This site is the website of the Sea to Sky Backcountry Recreation
Association. The Sea to Sky Backcountry Recreation Association
came into being as a result of a group of recreational users of
the Sea to Sky cooridor (Squamish Forest District) getting together
with the help of many government agencies to produce a backcountry
accord. The Goal of the Sharing Accord (left) was a product
of hard work by the user group known as the Backcountry Sharing
Forum (both Winter and Summer). Following the achievement
of producing a Goal everyone could live with, two recreational
accords were achieved after 18 months of monthly meetings.
Our accords were then incorporated into the Sea to Sky Land Resource
Management Plan in 2003-2004. Some modifications to the Backcountry
Accords were made as some compromises had to be made in order to
reach an LRMP agreement by the 13 sectors at the LRMP table.
